Charles Hinkle earns NBL Canada Player of the Week Honours

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Charles Hinkle of the St. John's Edge has been named Central Division Player of the Week for the week ending December 17, 2017.  This is the second time this season that Hinkle has earned this honour.

Hinkle, a 6'5" guard who played collegiately at American University, averaged 29 points and 9.7 rebounds this week - but his biggest achievement was a 53-point scoring barrage on Friday, December 15 against the Windsor Express, in a game where Hinkle also hit a franchise-high twelve 3-point baskets.

"Charles Hinkle had one of the great shooting performances that I've ever witnessed live," said St. John's head coach Jeff Dunlap.  "It was so effortless, it was just rolling off his fingers.  He was in one of those rare zones that a player can go into.  When we're hitting, that poses a lot of problems for opposing teams.  We need to get the ball through Hinkle's hands and Carl English's hands because of the pressure that puts on defenses."

St. John's are will return from the Christmas break with a four-game home-stand versus the Windsor Express and KW Titans beginning on January 9th, tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 NST and the game will be streamed live on
