Edge finish road trip In cape breton
St. John’s, NL – The St. John’s Edge head into Cape Breton to face the Highlanders on Tuesday night, with game time set for 7:30pm NL Time.
The Edge are coming off of a heart breaking defeat at the hands of the Halifax Hurricanes on Sunday afternoon. That game also saw outstanding performances from Maurice Jones Sr., Dez Lee, and Junior Cadougan. Going into the match up with the Highlanders, the Edge will again look to limit the inside scoring and second chance points that have seemingly hurt the club through their first 6 games.
On the offensive side of the ball look for Carl English to be a key factor in the game as he is coming off a good performance Sunday as he works his way back to 100% health. Another factor for Tuesday night’s game will be the inside presence of both Keith Wright Jr. and Chadrack Lufile. Both big-men made an impact in the comeback on Sunday and have made a difference on the inside over the last few games for the Edge.
Cape Breton are coming off a 102-89 loss to the undefeated Moncton Magic. The Highlanders are currently led by veterans Bruce Massey and Canadian Jamal Reynolds who are both averaging over 20 points per game. The team sits 2nd overall in the league for offensive rebounds per game and 3rd overall for points scored per game.
This will surely be another early season test for the Edge as they look to finish the 3-game Atlantic road trip with a win. Both teams have guys who can take over games and we will surely see that on display come Tuesday night.
